1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This policy applies to the Bible Quizio mobile application, biblequizio.com, and the services that support them. Bible Quizio is published by VenaApps, which is responsible for the information described here. Contact us about privacy or your data at support@venaapps.com.
The app offers Bible reading, quizzes, spoken-answer challenges, notes, and study features in English and French. This policy describes the data used by those features; it does not mean that every feature collects every type of data.
2. Information we collect and why
Account and profile: when you register or sign in, we process your email address, password through our authentication service, account identifier, verification codes, and session tokens. Your profile may include your name, username, country you choose, and an optional photo. These details enable account access, recovery, personalization, and synchronization. Your chosen country is not GPS location.
Quiz activity: we store account-linked quiz sessions, selected answers, correctness, scores, completion times, and quiz preferences such as language and difficulty. We use these to show progress, statistics, and questions to review, and to understand overall use of the service.
Bible reading and study: we store notes, highlights, annotations, saved studies, and saved research linked to your account when you use those features. Selected passages, terms, references, and surrounding text are processed when you request dictionary, study, or research assistance. Bible activity and personal notes can reveal religious beliefs; we use this information to deliver your requested features, not to build advertising profiles.
Support: if you contact us, we receive your contact details, message, and any attachments you send so that we can respond and resolve your request.
Technical information: our hosting, authentication, and infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, request times, browser or device information sent with requests, and error or security logs to deliver content, troubleshoot problems, and prevent abuse.
3. Microphone and spoken answers
If you enable spoken answers or test your microphone, the app requests microphone permission and records the audio for that interaction. The recording is sent to our server and to Google Gemini to transcribe or evaluate your answer. If that evaluation fails, OpenAI may process the recording and transcript as a fallback. Relevant answer choices and language are sent to help evaluate the response. Microphone tests also produce spoken feedback.
The app does not record ambient audio for advertising or voice identification. You can decline or revoke microphone permission in your device settings and use the available touch-based quiz features instead.
Recordings are created as temporary files on your device. Our answer-processing endpoints do not save recordings to our database or media storage; providers may retain submitted data under their own service terms and settings. Temporary device files can remain until cleared by the app, operating system, or removal of app data.
4. Profile photos and device storage
If you choose a profile photo, the app uses your device’s photo picker to access the image you select and uploads it to our storage service. It does not upload your whole photo library. Profile photos are served through public image links: anyone with the image URL can view the photo. Do not choose an image you need to keep confidential.
The app stores downloaded Bible text, quiz content, audio, preferences, reading settings, and some account-related content on your device to support offline use and faster loading. Session information is stored to keep you signed in. Clearing app data or uninstalling removes local app data subject to your device’s backup and restore settings; it does not delete your online account.
5. Service providers and sharing
We use Supabase for account authentication, databases, synchronization, and file storage; Resend to deliver verification and account emails; and hosting infrastructure to serve the website, APIs, and content. These services process the information needed for their role.
Google Gemini processes requested Bible definitions, studies, research, and voice features. OpenAI provides a fallback for spoken-answer transcription and evaluation. For study requests, we send the selected term or passage and relevant context, reference, translation, and language. We do not attach your account email or profile to these AI prompts. Do not include confidential personal information in content you submit for AI processing. Generated definitions and research may be cached and reused; account-linked saved items are stored separately.
If you choose to donate when donations are available, Stripe hosts checkout and processes payment and billing information. We receive checkout status and can access transaction information through the payment service, but do not collect or store your full card number or security code on our servers.
Authorized administrators may access information when needed to operate, secure, or support the service. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or in a business transfer subject to applicable privacy obligations. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
6. How long information is kept
We keep your account, quiz history, and saved personal content while your account remains active or until you delete the relevant content or account. Local downloads and preferences remain until you remove them, clear app data, or uninstall, subject to device backup settings.
Deleting your account removes the account-linked profile, quiz records, notes, and saved reader items from the active database and initiates removal of your profile photo. General Bible content and cached AI-generated content are separate from your saved account items and may remain. Contact us if a generated response contains personal information you want removed.
Verification records, security logs, backups, support correspondence, and payment records may remain for limited operational, security, dispute-resolution, or legal reasons. Their retention depends on the record and the service provider. Account deletion does not automatically erase records held independently by payment or AI providers. Backup copies are removed according to the relevant provider’s backup lifecycle rather than immediately with the active account.
7. Delete your account or request data removal
In the app, open Account, choose Delete account, and complete the email verification and confirmation steps. This permanently deletes your account and its associated profile, quiz history, notes, and saved reader items as described above. Simply uninstalling the app does not delete your account.
You can also request deletion without the app: email support@venaapps.com with the subject “Bible Quizio account deletion”, preferably from the email address registered to your account. State that you want your account and associated data deleted. We may need to verify ownership before processing the request. Never send your password or a verification code to support.
You may use the same contact to request removal of specific information without deleting the whole account. If we must retain particular records for legal or security reasons, we will explain the applicable exception when responding to your request.
Request account deletion by email8. Your choices and privacy rights
You can edit available profile fields, manage your notes and saved items, use guest features, and disable microphone access in device settings. Optional features may not work without the information or permission they need.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Contact support@venaapps.com to make a request. We may verify your identity and will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide the services you request, pursue legitimate interests in security and reliable operation, comply with legal obligations, or act on your consent for optional processing where required. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already lawfully performed.
9. Security and international processing
We use HTTPS for communication with our services, authenticated access, and database access controls to protect account data. Access is limited according to the needs of the service. No system can guarantee absolute security; protect your account credentials and device.
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own, where privacy laws may differ. Applicable protections depend on the provider, its service agreements, and relevant law. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data.
10. Children and family use
Bible Quizio is intended for users aged 13 and over. The Kids quiz difficulty describes question difficulty, not an account age category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use, especially account creation, profile photos, microphone features, and AI study tools. These features can send information off the device as described above; guest mode is not a guarantee that no technical information is processed.
Children should not submit personal information or recordings without the involvement of a parent or guardian. Where parental consent is required by law, it must be obtained before processing a child’s personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, or a child has provided information without required consent, contact support@venaapps.com so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
11. Website storage and external services
The website uses session cookies where needed for sign-in, including administrator access. The current website and app do not include advertising SDKs or third-party behavioral analytics trackers. Operational logs and account-linked quiz statistics are described above.
If you follow an external link, use your email application, or open Stripe checkout, that service’s own privacy policy also applies. Its data practices are separate from the features we operate.
12. Changes and contact
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice or request consent when required. For questions, privacy requests, or concerns, contact the Bible Quizio team at support@venaapps.com.
